Water consumption, wastewater and solid liquid separation are becoming large problems in the brewing industry. This is mainly due to the many chemical, biochemical and solid liquid separation processes that beer and wine go through. These processes ultimately lead to wastewater that is full of various organic components such as BOD and suspended solids, these components make treatment of wastewater difficult to predict because of fluctuations. Consequently, fixing this problem by efficiently addressing these fluctuations would provide significant economic benefits.
